Ramona is a series of interfaces that aim to enhance the expressive possibilities and intimacy of the interactions between electronic music performers and digital musical instruments. This is accomplished through a series of studies exploring specific gestures and new materials.
In Espongina, water and wood are explored as materials involved in the interaction with the audio software or synth. Using waterproof piezos as the sensing method, the power of the audio produced by the movement of the water around the microphones is mapped to different MIDI parameters.
