What Hums Beyond – Tieranatomisches Theater building @Berlin, Nov 10

What Hums Beyond is a site-specific performance that reimagines the hidden vibratory topography of the Tieranatomisches Theater building.
Against a soundbed of electromagnetic recordings collected throughout the building, Merche Blasco uses custom-built antennas to transduct and transform the theatre’s invisible electromagnetic activity into an evolving multichannel landscape of drones, pulses, and hissing, shifting patterns. Accordionist Luc Vitk / Lucie Vítková and sheng player Li-Chin Li improvise in dialogue with this electronic environment, responding to the building’s unseen energetic rhythms. The performance reveals the building’s architecture as a living instrument, rendering audible the invisible vibrations that sustain its everyday life
