Mo(u)rning – Premiere in Prospect Park, NYC

On Saturday, May 8th, World Migratory Bird Day I will be premiering this piece composed for euphonium players Christopher McIntyre and Weston Olencki.

I composed Mo(u)rning based on the songs of species spotted in the park on World Migratory Bird Day last year, as my way to thank these creatures for all the sonic uplift and hope they brought me in the past year. It is also my salute to the park which throughout the past year provided us, musicians, a place to do what we love most after we lost access to our studios and venues.
